Refresh in one of the many streams or rivers
Bethel Village Adventure is a cluster of seven cabins, nestled on the hillside in
a lush tropical garden setting at one side of a small local village.
Live in this small rural village that subsists by cultivating fruit and vegetable and selling the excess at the market place in Port Vila. There are no dangerous animals, no muggers, no poisonous insects; stress-free with no TV, radio, newspapers, (all news is by bush telegraph) no clocks to watch and the telephone is for essential calls only.
Spend time with these beautiful, friendly people and your outlook on life will change forever.
Wander along the garden tracks through the coconut groves for a short walk to the rolling waves of the Coral Sea. Swim in the rock pools, or wade the reef at low tide.
Most fruit and vegetables used in the restaurant are organically grown in the village gardens. Including; mango, pawpaw, pineapple, banana, plantain, watermelon, coconut, orange, grapefruit, lemon, lime, custard apple, sour sop, breadfruit, sugar cane, avocado, local lychees and pears. Lettuce, tomato, capsicum, Cookingcucumber, sweet potato, yams, taro, local spinach, tapioca, cabbage and eggplant.
Come and enjoy the experience of the village lifestyle, including local food cooked in a traditional kitchen on the open fire, wrapped in laplap leaves on hot stones or in an underground oven. Wake up to the evocative smell of the wood smoke from the breakfast fire and the tantalizing smell of the morning bread being baked in the wood fire drum oven. Meals are eaten in the unique, locally designed and built, restaurant.
Lighting is available in the cabins, for a few hours of an evening, by generator. After hours lighting is by the soft glow of candle light. Pathways are lit at night by hurricane lamps.
This is a value for money, budget priced adventure for those seeking a real island adventure.
